The entire team is responsible for a qa process on the other hand qc is the responsibility of the testing team members that help locate the bugs and hindrances. An alternate definition is the operational techniques and activities used to fulfill requirements for quality. Since testing checks the quality of a product it classifies in the domain of qc. The most notable difference between quality assurance and quality control is that while qc is product oriented qa is process oriented.
While quality assurance relates to how a process is performed or how a product is made quality control is more the inspection aspect of quality management. Quality assurance on the other hand aims at preventing the issues from occurring in the future by improving the process. Quality control is about adherence to requirements. Quality assurance is aimed to avoid the defect whereas quality control is aimed to identify and fix the defects.
Quality control analyzes the product and provides the qa team with feedback. The primary difference between quality assurance and quality control is that quality assurance protects the product from defects while quality control detects and sort out the defects in the product. So it aims at detecting and correcting issues. When you are testing a product for quality you are not assuring its quality you are controlling it.

Quality assurance serves as a preventive technique and a proactive measure to ensure the quality of the product. Quality assurance provides assurance that quality requested will be achieved whereas quality control is a procedure that focuses on fulfilling the quality requested. Qc is usually limited to the review testing phase in sdlc whereas qa can be continuous and performed along with development in ci cd.
