What Does It Mean To Have Too Much Pride
Olivia Luz
People can be too proud to apologize and too proud to take the first step in repairing a friendship.
Pride is the sin most likely to keep you from crying out for a savior. Everyone is equal in the eyes of god. Instead i m talking about the pride that nearly everyone has that keeps us from being honest with ourselves and others because we re too proud to admit defeat. A proud partner never admits that he she is wrong.
We don t want to be seen by others as weak or incapable but our vulnerability is exactly. Too much pride prevents you from compromising when a compromise is in order. Having too much pride means being so proud about yourself you start to think you re better than other people and or you cannot fail in anything you do. When you begin to see yourself as the most important person in your relationship it means you have given way to pride.
About the only way this can work is if the non proud person is passive and likes having all of their decisions made for them. As seriously dangerous as pride is it s equally hard to spot. It is a feeling that you are more important in your relationship than your partner. For example someone is said to have too much pride if they let their fear of looking needy or emotional or even stupid stand in the way of telling their true feelings.

Being able to give and take is paramount in any relationship. He she tries to win all arguments in order to look superior to their partner. When it comes to diagnosing our hearts those of us who have the disease of pride have a challenging time identifying our sickness. In order to feel good about this though you are happy that everyone else in the world don t have it that s a wrong attitude it can lead to resentment and smugness by looking down on others.
Too much pride not willing to let down your guard down enough due to an over exaggerated perception of self to the point you might actually keep yourself from personal gain or harm or hurt others. The other person begins to resent always having to give ground constantly.
