It s not just what you know that makes a difference.
What you know is great. This is especially true i ve found when it comes to getting your work discovered whether that means a writing landing a publishing contract a musician signing with a record label or you finally getting your dream job. The who you knows are the middlemen the investment bankers corp lawyers real estate b. It s not what you know but who you know is a saying used in both business and government.
Sometimes if you know someone he or she might not even care about your skills or education. In other words to produce and prosecute an argument. In business and life relationship is everything. But there are plenty of people who know a lot but who haven t made very much headway in life.
It is said usually by someone who is not progressing quickly in a career that it s not what you know it s who you know every day offers evidence of this thesis. It s who you know. If there are two starving artists and both of them are extremely talented but one of them is friends with a king who is likely to do well. But today it is better to be a what you know.
