This means that hot cocoa is better for the health as it comes with a low sugar and fat content. Because of that hot cocoa tends to be sweet and light in body. Hot cocoa is made from cocoa powder. Hot cocoa also is a potent antioxidant beverage when compared to hot chocolate.
Though most people use the terms interchangeably hot cocoa and hot chocolate are not one and the same. Historically hot cocoa as the name suggests is made from cocoa powder sugar and milk. Each is made of similar yet different ingredients according to the daily meal. Many times depending on the maker hot cocoa is likely to contain some kind of flavors such as cinnamon or vanilla.
On the other hand hot chocolate is nothing but melted chocolate. It s thinner than hot chocolate and isn t as rich but is much sweeter thanks to the added sugar. It often also contains flavoring like vanilla or even spices like ground cinnamon. And yes there really is a difference.
