What Is The Difference Between Atrial Flutter And Atrial Fibrillation

Now atrial fibrillation is much faster than atrial flutter and it s also much more chaotic than atrial flutter.
Atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter are more common among older people and people who have a heart disorder. Atrial flutter and atrial fibrillation afib are both types of arrhythmias. Fibrillation has a slow heart rate while flutter rate is around 200 beats per minute. The difference between atrial fibrillation afib and atrial flutter aflutter is clinically relevant because typical flutter can easily be treated by radiofrequency ablation.
Moreover diagnosis and treatment procedures also are similar if not exactly the same. Many people with atrial flutter also have episodes of atrial fibrillation. In both atrial fibrillation and flutter the atria contract much faster than normal with the result that blood is not effectively pumped into the lower chambers or ventricles of the heart. Some people have mild symptoms others have none at all.
The rapid atrial contractions of atrial fibrillation occur in an irregular fashion and have a chaotic rhythm while in atrial flutter the contractions are regular. Atrial flutter is less common than atrial fibrillation. This means that if atrial flutter is identified earlier patients have a better chance of survival. Now i think the most important difference between atrial flutter and atrial fibrillation is how they re treated in the role of catheter ablation.

Atrial flutter is less common but has similar symptoms feeling faint tiredness palpitations shortness of breath or dizziness. About a third of people with atrial flutter also have atrial fibrillation. However the other symptoms mentioned above are very similar. So typically atrial fibrillation will cause an irregular heart beat.
What is the difference between atrial fibrillation and atrial flutter. Atrial flutter is a type of atrial tachycardia that results in an arrhythmia rhythm disorder or not a normal rhythm where the atria of the heart beat too quickly in a fast usually regular rhythm. They both occur when there are problems with the electrical signals that make your heart chambers contract.
