Difference between anaphase 1 and 2 is that homologous chromosomes are separated during anaphase 1 whereas sister chromatids are separated during anaphase 2. In meiosis i homologous chromosomes are separated during anaphase while during the stage of anaphase ii in meiosis ii sister chromatids of a chromosome are separated. In anaphase i centromeres of homologous chromosomes are attached to the spindle fibers so as the two spindle fibers are attached to the centromeres of each homologous chromosome whereas in anaphase ii both spindle fibers are attached to the same chromosome.
