What Is The Difference Between Ai And Machine Learning
Olivia Luz
The main difference between ai and machine learning is that ai is the development of computer systems that are able to perform tasks intelligently similar to a human being while machine learning is a type of artificial intelligence that gives a system the ability to learn without being explicitly programmed.
In other words all machine learning is ai but not all ai is machine learning. But it is not the only approach machine learning is an approach to archive artificial intelligence. Ai is a bigger concept to create intelligent machines that can simulate human thinking capability and behavior whereas machine learning is an application or subset of ai that allows machines to learn from data without being programmed explicitly. They have learnt not memorized the answer.
Artificial intelligence makes machines smart giving them the ability to mimic cognitive functions of humans. A way to visualize the difference between ai and machine learning is by imagining a set of russian nesting dolls. Ai stands for artificial intelligence where intelligence is defined acquisition of knowledge intelligence is defined as a ability to acquire and apply knowledge. Machine learning has become the fastest growing subset of ai.
And machine learning is a current application of ai based. The aim is to increase chance of success and not accuracy. Artificial intelligence is the broader concept of machines being able to carry out tasks in a way that we would consider smart. Ai would be the larger russian doll and machine learning would be a smaller one fitting entirely inside it.
