What Is The Difference Between A Gas And A Liquid
Camila Farah
Solid particles have strong bonding between them.
The table below gives the difference between liquid. To store gas molecules it is required to have a closed container. A state of matter with freely moving particles is known as gas. A state of matter with loosely bond particles is known as a liquid.
The liquids have less intermolecular space than solids while gases have a lot of intermolecular space between them. Liquid particles have lose bonding between them. Their molecular attraction is minimum when compared to liquid and solid molecules. Gases have a very weak force of attraction between the molecules which is the least amongst the three states of matter.
1 liquids have less force of attraction between molecules than solids and more than gases. These molecules flow in all directions and show a constant random and free molecular motion. Gas is a coordinate term of liquid. A state of matter that has strongly bonded particles is known as solid.

They are slightly compressible and take the shape of their containers. Gas refers to a state of matter do not have any shape but conform to the shape of the container completely in which it is put in. Liquids have moderate density while gases have low density. On the other hand liquids are flexible and will take the shape of the container they are in.
The primary difference between liquid and gas is. Fixed shape and volume. Liquids are less compressible than gases as they have greater intermolecular attraction. Liquids cannot be stored without containers and do not need closed container while gases need a closed container for storage.
It can condense into a liquid or can rarely become a solid directly or gas can be uncountable us gasoline. As nouns the difference between gas and liquid is that gas is uncountable chemistry matter in a state intermediate between liquid and plasma that can be contained only if it is fully surrounded by a solid or held together by gravitational pull. Solids have a definite shape and size.
