What Is The Difference Between A Deer And A Reindeer
Olivia Luz
Reindeer is the second biggest species of deer.
Both deer and reindeer are hoofed mammals that belong to the family cervidae. Deer is an habitant of savannas meadows mixed forests while reindeer is an habitant of tundra and boreal forests. The whitetail on the other hand has a long list of natural predators as it is a medium sized animal whose only defense is to flee. The main difference between deer and reindeer is that the deer is adapted to moderate climates whereas the reindeer is adapted to cold climates.
In most deer species only the male deer bear antlers. Their bodies are bigger and stronger and their antlers are bigger. Reindeer are herbivores but they will eat small rodents eggs and fish to survive unlike other deer. Deer include small to large sized animals while reindeer is always medium to large in their physique.
