The eggshell gets its hardness from a mineral called calcium carbonate similar to our bones.
These bubbles are a chemical reaction between the acid in the vinegar and the base in the calcium carbonate of the eggshell. What happens when you put an egg in vinegar. When you place the egg into the vinegar you will start to observe bubbles. The eggs will start to bubble.

When you place the egg in the vinegar the shell base and the vinegar acid react and the shell basically dissolves away. While you re waiting create a saturated salt solution in a jug by dissolving as much salt as you can into 500ml water. Pour vinegar into the bowl until the eggs are completely covered. You may need to use a spoon to help.
Record the time you put the egg in the vinegar then observe the egg for a few minutes. It shows the acetic acid in vinegar dissolving the shell of an egg by eating away t. This will ensure that you can catch the eggs in your hand. Since the egg shell is made out of calcium carbonate and is eaten up by the acidic vinegar.
