If progesterone is too low your body might not fully shed your uterine lining the way it s supposed to. The beginning or end of your period when your flow is slow the blood may take longer to exit your body.
Brown blood in the period may occur during menstruation. The change of color from dark red to brown is because the body is expelling older blood and this usually happens towards the end of your period. This may be completely normal during your period. Most of the time when brown period blood is linked to your menstrual cycle like a few days before or after your period or even breakthrough bleeding it s totally normal.
Seeing brown blood at the very beginning of your period is a sign of low progesterone. This means you hold on to a little bit of tissue which oxidizes during the month and shows up as brown spotting or bleeding at the beginning of your next cycle. In most cases brown blood during your period is normal. The color and consistency of blood can change throughout your menstrual cycle.
