It produces corolla blue funnel shaped flowers that are usually fused and also 5 lobed. There blooms are white pink or blue with either white or yellow centers. Large hairy rough leaves grow on stems up to 30 inches high. They are a common sight in springtime and they tend to grow in mats.
Careful breeding has produced pink purple and white varieties although they are not as commonly available from florists and nurseries as the classic blue variety. They most commonly are found in a beautiful clear sky blue shade but also come in pale purple pink and white.
