What did people do for fun in the united states in the early 1800s. What games or musical instruments were new or popular in the early 1800. In the 1800s homes were not as close to each other as they are today so children relied on family members or visiting neighbors to play these games. Women began playing golf cricket swimming and other sports that were dominated by the men.
Upper class women and men literally wore shoes with lifts on them because the streets were so coated in horse poop. That changed after the completion of the civil war as the economy of the east began to prosper and the mass exodus from the east to the west began. What did people do for fun in the united states in the early 1800s. That resulted in poop from horses littering the streets pretty much everywhere you went.

If you were a teen man in the 1800s you worked. When they did have time kids would do many things for their fun and leisure at the time. From the late 1800s to the early 1900s men and women actively participated in sports. Many boys would also go to the park or horse riding.
Go to circuses and ride animals or join their families on vacation with the train. They would also go play the new common sport football. In addition they will learn how transportation and communication improvements made it possible for americans to travel to new destinations.
