What Are The Similarities Between Prokaryotic And Eukaryotic Cells
Olivia Luz
10 similarities between eukaryotic cell and prokaryotic cell 1.
Both eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells contain many ribosomes. Only eukaryotes have membrane bound organelles and a nucleus. Both cells are enclosed by plasma membrane filled with cytoplasm. Eukaryotic cells are way more complex and have alot more functions and organelles.
All prokaryotic cells and almost all eukaryotic cells reproduce asexually. Prokaryotes also differ from eukaryotes in the structure packing density and arrangement of their genes on the chromosome. Their cells are smaller than eukaryotic cells. Eukaryotic cells also reproduce sexually.
The similarity is that both produces identical daughter cells. 80s compared to 70s. Eukaryotic cellules have a limited surface area thus making it very difficult for the nutrients to readily diffuse in the interior parts of the cells. Eukaryotic cells contain a nucleus and various other special compartments surrounded by membranes called organelles.

Prokaryotes follow binary fission of cell division and eukaryotes follow mitotic cell division. Eukaryotes can be single celled or multi celled such as you me plants fungi and insects. However the ribosomes of the eukaryotic cells are larger than prokaryotic ribosomes i e. Eukaryotic cells contain membrane bound organelles including a nucleus.
Prokaryotes divide via using binary fission while eukaryotic cells divide via mitosis. The nucleus is where the dna chromatin is stored. Binary fission is the process that prokaryotic cells reproduce through while eukaryotic cells reproduce through mitosis. Eukaryotes include larger more complex organisms such as plants and animals.
